BLC's Community Blog - the Gatherings, Life Groups, discipleship, social issues, prayers, worship experiences, insights into the Scripture... no random statements of who we had lunch with and what our dogs ate for breakfast. Refreshment day

It was our life groups turn for refreshments on Sunday. We brought some fried rice I made in the morning and chicken curry Sigrun had made earlier. Auntie Long had made her fantatsic red bean, Ben had some fried sausage and we had some nice sandwiches and cake. It is nice when we can all chip in and it means we can gather for a talk and some makan after the service while the rugrats are in Sunday School.

It was quite funny as the rice I used had been cooked with too much water ( this hand in the cooker system is not graduated for my size hands Wan Ching ;-)) so it was a little stickier than fried rice should be. Keat Lim asked me what it was and I said Nasi Goreng with a deadpan face which had him in fits of laughter. Now we have chinese, malasyian and DB style fried rice according to him.

Some nice conversations and a guy talk about fuel power, jumping naked into freezing lakes after a sauna and water density followed (must look that up Tapio) before we headed back to our respective homes. Just another BLC sunday.....

I look forward to Refreshments each Sunday... not only because of the food (it is mostly very good though)! But also because it's a great time to have conversations with one another. Always enjoyable.

David, your rice was nice... I like rice that's soft and mushy. I really do.

indeed ... the food is merely an excuse to relax our tense beings in order to open up to talk and listen. Way to go ... the Friday LiFE Group!
